Walter Szeliga and I headed out to the Pawnee this morning. The usual breeders were fairly easy to find--we saw both longspurs, but unlike Ted Floyd, I am not particularly overwhelmed by their numbers this year. Instead I'm impressed by the numbers of Lark Buntings, Cassin's Sparrows, and Grasshopper Sparrows.
Crow Valley had breeding species and a couple of migrants -- a few Swainson's Thrushes and a Yellow-breasted Chat. Lower Latham's bitterns put on an excellent visual show, and Cattle Egrets were easy to see. Those were the highlights-- Nathan Pieplow Boulder --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ Colorado County Birding: http://www.coloradocountybirding.com/ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Colorado Birds" group.
