This morning, I was walking on the Valco Ponds side of the Arkansas River,
below Pueblo Reservoir dam.  I was between the Snakeskin Picnic Area and the
Fish Hatchery Ponds, when I started to hear a singing Northern Cardinal on the
Rock Canyon side of the river.  It sang quite a few times, and I tried to see
it, by looking across the river.  I couldn't see it, so I decided to walk to
the other side of the river to look for it.  It took about 15-20 minutes to get
over there, and I couldn't hear or see the bird.  I look around for quite a
while, and never found it.  I don't think someone was playing a tape, though
maybe.  The bird sounded perfect for a Northern Cardinal.
