Two Black Phoebes in juvenal plumage made their way yesterday to one of the
ponds on my friend's property east of Canon City. I believe these are
likely the offspring from a pair of Black Phoebes I was following this
spring until several weeks ago. Given the plumage and residual yellowish
gape flanges I believe they only recently attained independence from their
parents. I have posted a photo that I got of one of them onto my blog at
http://BirdsAndNature.blogspot.com

I also photographed a juvenile Belted Kingfisher from a kingfisher family I
have been watching. It is also posted on my blog.
