We're here in Colorado on another visit.  I haven't had much time for birding but snuck in a little.

Last evening, Friday, 6/26, sitting on the front porch at my mother's house in Cherry Hills Village, Arapahoe County, we were visited by a Townsend's Solitaire which perched nicely for us in a bare treetop and called while flying out a couple of times to flycatch.  I've seen them in this neighborhood in the winter but not in the summer.

This morning, Saturday, 6/27, I checked out the Carson Nature Center and the nearby trails along the S. Platter River (I think this is in Arapahoe County).  This was my first time there -- a very nice place.  As I was about to leave, I spotted a beautiful male Black-chinned Hummingbird perched on a bare branch near the garden on the street side of the Nature Center.  He posed nicely for me in the sunlight.
