See the Perseids, Listen to Nocturnal Migrants ABA/PIB Field Trip-August 12th, 2009
Join Ted Floyd, editor of Birding magazine and author of The Smithsonian Field Guide to the Birds of North America, for a mildly insane, middle-of-the-night field trip. We will meet at 3:15 a.m. at an undisclosed location in eastern Boulder County for a prompt departure to another undisclosed location, where we will watch the Perseid meteor shower and listen to sparrows and warblers on nocturnal migration. Please leave your cell phones, dogs, and noisy clothing at home. We will have a wonderful time. This special field trip is a joint offering of the American Birding Association (aba.org) and the Partnership for International Birding (pibird.com). It is free and open to the public, but RSVP (e-mail only) is required. To reserve a spot, and to figure out where the heck we're meeting, contact Ted Floyd ([email protected]). Please indicate PERSEIDS-MIGRATION in the subject line of your e-mail message.
