Hi All,
We just had our first-of-year Rufous Hummingbird this evening, at about
7:00PM. It was an adult male that made a two-second zip through to check
out our feeder. Last year our first-of-year was on July 19th.

In the last couple of weeks we have enjoyed watching lots of different
fledglings around our house . . . Pygmy and White-breasted Nuthatches,
Spotted Towhees, Hairy and Downy Woodpeckers, Northern Flickers, Lazuli
Buntings, American Robin, House Wrens, , Bullock's Orioles, Yellow Warblers,
Broad-tailed Hummingbirds, Say's Phoebes, Steller's Jays, and Black-billed
Magpies. Virginia's Warblers are also breeding, but we've only seen them
feed cowbird fledglings.
