I would agree with Jeff's account. For the past ten years or so, we
have had a pair of cordilleran flycatchers nesting atop our porch
light above the front door of our montane cabin in Rosita (Custer
County, ~9000ft). The next has been successful every year, including
one year when I had to install a storm door and re-do the framing to
make it fit. Throughout the procedure, which took most of the day,
the female sat on her nest with a glittering eye, but rarely moved
away, even when some of the reconstruction work was less than a foot
away!

This year, a high wind blew the nest down, and since we were gone, we
did not discover the very soggy nest on the porch until much later.
There were no eggs at that point, and I saw no attempt to rebuild the
nest above the porch light. The pair of COFLs was still around,
though, and I finally discovered the location of the new nest—atop the
electric box on the rear of the house. There are four eggs and we
will, of course, be watching the progress of the nesting effort.
