COBirders, I was able to see the LEAST BITTERN reported by Nick Komar yesterday at Running Deer/Cottonwood Hollow Natural Areas. The bird was on the east shore of Cottonwood Hollow pond, closest to the south side of Prospect (most north side of the pond) first sitting in reeds and then climbing into some bare branches of a tree and calling! Seen well through my scope, it had a very black cap and back so I am calling it an adult male. I was able to see it by walking down onto the small spit near the north end of the pond. I did get some pics but the bird was a long way away. (Where is Bill Schmoker when you need him?) ------------------- Rachel Hopper Ft. Collins Check out the CFO Website: www.cfo-link.org
