This past weekend after working at the Crested Butte farmers market Jason Beason, his family, Michelle and I camped off of Rd. 12 around the Kebler Pass area. We got a little bit of birding in. There is nice high elevation riparian and Aspen habitat in this area. We saw or heard the following species; Willow Flycatcher McGillviray’s Warbler (adult carrying food) Fox Sparrow Swainson’s Thrush Hermit Thrush Orange-crowned Warbler Pine Grosbeak Golden-crowned Kinglet Spotted Sandpiper Black-headed Grosbeak Townsend’s Solitaire Cordilleran Flycatcher Mountain Bluebird Audubon’s Warbler Lazuli Bunting White-crowned Sparrow Lincoln’s Sparrow Song Sparrow Ruby Crowned Kinglet Yellow Warbler Gray-headed Junco Cassin’s Finch Northern Flicker Black-capped Chickadee Mountain Chickadee Red-naped Sapsucker (3 juveniles) Downy Woodpecker Hairy Woodpecker Western Tanager Tree Swallow Violet-green Swallow Pine Siskin House Wren
