Bent County: 
--A LEAST BITTERN  was reported by Percival at Fort Lyon SWA on July 25.  
The  bittern was seen again on July 31 by  Steger. 
--An adult  YELLOW-CROWNED NIGHT-HERON was reported by Steger at John 
Martin Reservoir on  July 31. 
Delta County: 
--A COMMON  BLACK-HAWK was reported by Beason about 1/2 mile SW of 
Hotchkiss on July  29. 
--A pair of American  Three-toed Woodpeckers was reported by Garrison below 
the dam on the west  side of Young's Creek #1 on Grand Mesa on July 29. 
Denver County: 
--A breeding  plumaged Common Loon and imm RED-THROATED LOON were 
reported by Tina  Jones on Marston Reservoir on July 11.  On July 31, 
Bob Spencer refound  the RED-THROATED LOON. 
El Paso County: 
--2 Green Herons  were reported by Burns at Fountain Creek Regional Park on 
N 
edge of S Rice's  Pond on August 1. 
Gilpin County: 
--A Winter Wren was  reported by Deininger on the Nevadaville Road on July 
28.  Nevadaville is SW of Central City and  Blackhawk. 
Larimer County: 
--Three LEAST  BITTERNS (1 adult male; 1 adult female; 1 juv.) were 
reported by Wild at  Cottonwood Hollow Pond east of Fort Collins on August 3.   
A Green Heron was  relocated by Arnold at Cottonwood Hollow on August 2. 
--Am American  Three-Toed Woodpecker was reported by Kwong in Rocky 
Mountain National Park at  Upper Beaver Meadows close to the trail about 300 
feet 
from the parking lot on  July 29. 
Mesa County: 
--Purple Martins  were reported by Korte N of Collbran on July 27. 
Moffat County: 
--Purple Martins  were reported by Dexter at Freeman Reservoir which is 
north 
of Craig on August  1. 
The Denver Museum of Nature & Science will  present a Curator Lunchtime 
Lecture on  Wednesday, August 5, at 12:15 pm in Ricketson Auditorium, free 
with Museum  admission.  Jude Southward, Bridget  Sabo, John Demboski, Jeff 
Stephenson, and  Aaron Spriggs will talk about "Building a Better 
Birdhouse: 
A New Home for  Taxidermy Mounts". 
The DFO Field Trip  for Saturday, August 8 will be to Belmar Historic Park 
led by Karleen  Schofield (303-936-8661).  Meet the  leader at 0730 at 
Blemar 
Histor Park, 800 S Wadsworth Blvd at W Ohio Ave.  Turn west on Ohio Ave  
and 
go 2 block straight  ahead into Iron gate parking lot and to the  lake.  
Trip 
will ende before  noon so lunch is optional.  Wheelchar accessible trails 
and 
good trip for novice  birders and new members. 
The DFO Field Trip  for Sunday, August 9 will be to Lower Lathan,  Loloff, 
and 
Barr Lake led by Ira and Tammy Sanders,  (303-278-7172).  Meet the leaders  
at 
0700 at the Division  of Wildlife, 6060 N Broadway, exit I-25 at 58th Ave, 
go 
west 1 block to  Broadway, then north 2 block to parking lot on right.  
This 
will be a half day  trip.  State Parks pass will be  needed for Barr  Lake. 
Lunch  optional.
