On my way back home today I took an afternoon drive up E. Portal Rd out of
Rollinsville. Stopping at the tunnel for a snack I then walked the willows
north of the road since there was some bird activity there. Hearing a
Yellow-rumped Warbler chip, I turned to look and up popped a TOWNESEND WARBLER.
Driving back towards Rollinsville I scoped about 300 swallows perched on the
barbwire fence across the big pasture. Most were VIOLET-GREEN and TREE
SWALLOWS, but I did manage to find three CLIFF SWALLOWS and two BANK SWALLOWS.

I pulled over at every oppurtunity to scan S. Boulder Creek for AMERICAN DIPPER
ifinally turned onE up two miles short of Peak-toPeak Hwy.

Below is my complete list for E. Portal Rd.
