I've got a generally red-shafted flicker (brown crown, grey face, red malars, red underwings), but also sporting a red nape crescent, a la yellow shafted, in the back yard these days.
Also thought I spotted a Northern Shrike in Englewood late this am, but maps and time of year suggesting that as unlikely, I hope to return tomorrow to spot the beast again, to confirm or deny.
