The field trip for Sunday, Aug. 16 is to Gregory Canyon in Boulder. Leader
will be Paul Slingsby, [email protected]. Meet leader at 7:30 a.m. for
a half-day trip, lunch optional. Bring $3 for parking permit, plenty of
water and good hiking shoes for a moderate hike looking for warblers,
buntings and tanagers.

Take Hwy. 36 to Boulder, exit Baseline Drive. Go west on Baseline, crossing
Broadway and continue 1.5 miles. Past Chautauqua Park, the road forks. Stay
on the left fork until you come to a T-intersection at the base of Flagstaff
Mountain. The main road continues right up the mountain. Turn LEFT up
Gregory Canyon Road. Continue up the hill and park on the road. Purchase a
parking permit (unless a resident of Boulder County.) Place the money in the
permit container and the sticker on your windshield. Meet leader Paul
Slingsby at 7:30 am in front of the Permit Station Sign with the trail map
at the top of the hill.

Note- This is a change in leader from the newsletter. No need to register in
advance.
