Around noon today a mockingbird made a brief appearance at our house. It then flew south toward the Left Hand Water area between Neva and Nimbus Roads.
Also, Wed evening there were two archilochus hummingbirds at our feeders. One was a black-chinned, perhaps the same female that has been a more or less regular visitor lately. The other was possibly a ruby-throated female, although I saw it only briefly and in poor light. Its wingtips appeared pointed and straight compared to the rounded ones of the black-chinned, and for what it is worth, it did not pump its tail. I could not make out any plumage details of the back or head. I was hoping it would return so I could get better views before posting it, but I havent seen it since.
