Hello everyone,
A big incursion of LOGGERHEAD SHRIKES today in the grasslands north of Boulder. There were 4 adults along the dirt track that goes west from the end of Kelso Drive. To get to this area, drive north on 51st off of Jay Rd towards Boulder Reservoir. Kelso is one of the lanes that goes west a little bit before reaching the south entrance of Boulder Res. There's a cul-de-sac and an open space gate at the end of Kelso. Just walk down the two-track. Lots of grassland birds out there. Please respect the raptor closure. There were 2 adult Shrikes in the grasslands off of Lookout Rd, as well. There was also a WESTERN KINGBIRD, 2 BREWER'S SPARROWS, several LARK and VESPER SPARROWS, and adult and juvenile HORNED LARKS in this area.
