I was at Conchas Lake SP on Thursday (8/20) to look for the BF Booby. I arrived at the Central Recreation Area around 10 am and was fortunate enough to find the booby flying near the dam about 10 minutes later. It was actively flying, diving, and feeding for about 10 minutes. It then sat on the water, preened, and floated for about 45 minutes. I raced over to the South Recreation Area to get a closer look and was able to get some decent photos. During my visit from about 10 am until approximately 1 pm, there were very few boaters (1 boat, 2 jetskis). I'd expect it to be busier on the weekend, though.
