The Denver Field Ornithologists is offering a special Denver County trip to
Riverside Cemetery.  This is an urban wildlife refuge and historic site.  The
manager of the historic preservation there called me and wants to get more
birders interested in coming (including doing a bird list).

They do have some wetlands and forested areas (or at least some big trees) on
the property.  Possibly a good spot for some interesting Denver county finds.
Half the property is in Denver and the other half in Adams County.

I offered to lead a bird trip there on Thursday, September 10 at 6 AM.

If you are interested, just show up.  We will meet at the gates and park just
inside.  After that the gates are locked, so get there at about 5:55 AM.

We will likely bird there for 4 or 5 hours and then maybe try one other nearby
spot before calling it a good day of birding at about noon.

Bring:  Coat, rain gear, snacks, water bottle with water or other beverages,
binoculars, scopes (if you have one but maybe not needed).  SUN BLOCK AND
INSECT REPELLENT.   We will not have lunch on this trip, but feel free to bring
a sack lunch if you want.  I am likely to enjoy a nice burrito at a place
nearby after we are done.

Directions:

>From downtown to I-70.
Go east on I-70.
Take exit 275 and head north on Brighton Boulevard for about 0.7 miles.
Meet at gate at 5201 Brighton Blvd.

Hope to you there.

Best Wishes and Good Birding Always:  Charles Thornton-Kolbe
