Delta County: --A Black Phoebe was reported by Siders in Escalante Canyon near the Escalante/Dry Fork Confluence on September 15. El Paso County: --A Prothonotary Warbler was reported by Pals at Fountain Creek Regional Park on September 19. El Paso/Pueblo Counties: At Chico Basin Ranch: --On September 15, Gibbons reported that the Great Crested Flycatcher was still near HQ. --On September 16, Gibbons banded a possible BLUE-HEADED VIREO and 143 Wilson's Warblers. --On September 16, Koehn reported a possible Black-and-white Warbler near HQ. Fremont County: --A female Prothonotary Warbler was reported by Rich Miller in the east section of the Canon City Riverwalk on September 14. The bird was about 200 yards west of the MacKenzie Ave Parking lot. Jefferson County: --A Broad-winged Hawk was reported by Andrews on the Meadowlark Trail of Deer Creek Canyon Park on September 14. Larimer County: --A Tennessee Warbler was reported by Sparks in the McMurry Natural Area on September 16. --A Black-throated Blue Warbler was seen by the DFO Field Trip to Rocky Mountain National Park as reported by Smart on September 19. It was seen near the Upper Beaver Meadows Trailhead area. Montrose County: --Dexter reported that the Black Phoebe continues at the Nucla Sewer Ponds at least through September 19. Pueblo County: --A Black Phoebe was reported by Silverman on the north side of Purgatoire Way by a small pond near Colorado Blvd on September 14. --Percival reported that the Tuesday Birders from DFO saw a juv Sabine's Gull at West Fisherman's Point of Pueblo Reservoir on September 15. --A NEOTROPIC CORMORANT was reported by Percival at Pueblo Reservoir at the end of Swallows Road on September 19. Washington County: --At Last Chance ----On September 14, Huffstater reported a Black-and-white Warbler, Nashville Warbler and Northern Waterthrush. Weld County: --At Crow Valley ----On September 14, Leatherman reported a BLUE-HEADED VIREO. --Two Lesser Black-backed Gulls were reported by Komar on the north shore of Windsor Reservoir on September 16. --A Lapland Longspur and Chestnut-collared Longspur were reported by Lefko along CR 31 between CR 102 and CR 104 on September 17. The DFO Field Trip for Sunday, September 20 will be to Prewitt Reservoir and the Eastern Plains led by Bill Schmoker ([email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>). Meet the leader at 0700 at the Pepper Pod Restaurant in Hudson at the junction of I-76 and Hwy 52. Full day trip; bring lunch and plan to consolidate into carpools from Hudson.
