Hi COBirders,

Another slow day at CBR - and I'm ready for a weather change. It had
just finished raining when we opened nets at 7:00, and could hear a
lot of birds, and see a variety in the treetops - but that was about
it. 8 new birds banded today. At least three Sharp-shinned Hawks were
back at it - alternately terrorizing the flickers, and being mobbed by
them. One was briefly caught by the toe in a net , but made his escape.

Highlight of the day (and week) - BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLER (HY m) was
caught about 9am in the Holmes grove.

New Banded Birds:
Orange-crowned Warbler - 3 (all males)
Black-and-White Warbler (HY m)
Golden-crowned Kinglet (ad f)
Hermit Thrush (ad)
White-crowned Sparrow (HY)
Lazuli Bunting (HY)

Remember CBR is closed tomorrow (Sat 9/26) for banding and birding due
to a family event on the ranch. Regular banding schedule next week -
Mon - Sat 10/3.
