Boulder County: --A Least Tern was reported by Schmoker at Six Mile Reservoir in Boulder on September 23 and seen again on September 24 by Arnesen. El Paso County: --A Prothonotary Warbler was reported by Pals at Fountain Creek Regional Park on September 19. Percival reported that the Prothonotary Warbler continued at Hanson Nature Area of Fountain Creek on September 20. El Paso/Pueblo Counties: --A Black-and-white Warbler was banded by Brown at Chico Basin Ranch on September 25. NOTE: Chico Basin Ranch will be closed due to a family event on September 26. Larimer County: --A juv HUDSONIAN GODWIT was reported by Komar at Timnath Reservoir on September 24 and seen again by Wild on September 25. --An adult Lesser Black-backed Gull was reported by Wild at Timnath Reservoir on September 25. Logan County: --A BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPER was reported by Schmoker and DFO birders at Jumbo Reservoir on September 20. Montezuma County: --At Totten Reservoir, Beatty report a juv Stilt Sandpiper and juv Red-necked Phalarope on September 21. Park County: --2 juv Sabine's Gulls were reported by Semo at Antero Reservoir on September 21. Pueblo County: --A BLUE-HEADED VIREO was reported by Percival below Pueblo Reservoir near the Fish Hatchery Ponds on September 25. --A possible CAVE SWALLOW was reported by Percival at the Snakeskin Picnic Area of Pueblo Reservoir on September 25. If confirmed this would be the first state record of CAVE SWALLOW. The DFO Field Trip for Saturday, September 26 will be to Rocky Mountain Arsenal led by Dave Rhoades (303-424-8633). Meet the leader at 0800 at the Arsenal Visitor's Center at 56th and Havana. This is a space-limited trip; pre-registration with the leader is required. Lunch optional. The DFO Field trip for Sunday, September 27 will be to the Lyons area with the Such Brothers and their mentor Raymond Davis (303-823-5332). Meet the boys and Davis at 0800 at the Lyons Park-'n Ride for a half-day trip. Lunch optional. The monthly meeting of DFO will be on Monday, September 28 at the planetarium of the Denver Museum of Nature and Science at 7:30 pm. Park on the north side and enter the "Member's Entrance". US Fish and Wildlife Personnel will give a talk on "An Urban Gem: Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge."
