Hi cobirders. Yesterday I saw a Flicker trying to get into the round
cage feeder hanging at edge of the patio.
It is designed to let small birds only get into it to get at feeding
ports in the center which I put Sunflower seed.
The Flicker was there quite awhile trying to figure it out and was
way too big. It noticed me watching and flew
past with another flicker following close behind.
I have seen a squirrel a couple times go thru all kinds of tricks to
get at the seeds. House Sparrows and
House Finches get in easily and the Chickadees just fly in and
quickly select a seed and take it to the
Choke Cherry nearby to hammer away to get the seed out. Always happy.
Not seen any other small birds get into it yet.
