Dad and I stumbled across three sandhill cranes today in our wanderings. They
were in a field on the south side of the road, behind some irrigation pipe,
just east of the intersection of 33 and M east of Cortez. The nearest
residence was 33192 County Road M.

Been kind of slow around Cortez, birdwise. Other birds of interest included a
light phase ferruginous hawk south of Totten along the highway, and three
separate sightings of juniper titmouse, two in Montezuma and one in Dolores
County. While titmice are not unusual birds for this area, I don't actually
SEE them that often.

The Hills' snow goose was at Denny Lake again the yesterday but not this
morning.
