On a very nice calm warm Fall morning, Saraiya Ruano and I banded fifty birds
at Clear Springs Ranch (south of Fountain in El Paso County).

We handled 50 birds, including 6 recaptures. Nine species. One was a
White-crowned Sparrow banded at CSR in spring 2008!

Highlights were a Northern Shrike (first year), an adult Harris's Sparrow, a
Lincoln's Sparrow and a Blue Jay (which are always cool to band).

We also saw large groups of gulls flying south toward the midway dump, likely
coming from Big Johnson.

Here's our list:
Blue Jay,1
Gambel's White-crowned Sparrow,12+R1
Harris's Sparrow,1
Lincoln's Sparrow,1
Northern Shrike, 1
Oregon Junco,12
Slate-colored Junco, 2
Song Sparrow,19+R3
Spotted Towhee, R3
