Earlier today, I took a quick trip south of Louviers and within 5 minutes of
pulling up, and had great looks at the Lewis's Woodpecker in the same trees as
a couple of years ago. Thanks Kirk for the heads up on the return of this bird!

Howdy CoBirders,

On my way up to Marston Lake this morning, I perused the "dead tree by the

leaning tree" on the west side of Hwy-85, north of Sedalia and south of

with Tom Halverstadt last Sunday, I drove by the same tree, and saw a large,

dark woodpecker flying west toward Plum Creek, but I could not positively ID
the

bird due to bad light and distance. Lewis's Woodpeckers frequented the

very same tree a couple years ago, but have been absent for over a year; and
now
