It is a longshot, but look for WHOOPING CRANES in eastern Colorado counties.
They arrrived in KANSAS on Nov 4th (or earlier). Today (Monday November 9) I
saw:

13 together at 13:00 in QUIVIRA (observation tower north of Headquarters).
This included one juvenile

14 together at 16:30 in CHEYENNE BOTTOMS in Pool 1C, including one juvenile

3 together at 16:45 in CHEYENNE BOTTOMS in Pool 1A, including one juvenile

for an afternoon total of 30 WHOOPING CRANES. Seeing so many together on their
migration south is a rare occurence in their flyway; seeing one-to-three
together in the Fall is more common in recent years.

Strong winds from the south Sat and Sun may have kept them here Monday. The
winds were over Monday afternoon.
