Driving back to Longmont from Steamboat Springs I added three more Rough-legged
Hawks on US40. Next stop was to check the feeders in Kremmling to see in any
rosey-finches were back in town. Success. A flock of maybe 150 finches were
perched in the tree at the corner of 9th and Grand. The majority of the flock
were Gray-crowned Rosey-Finches with a few Brown-capped Rosey-Finches mixed in.
The seemed to be feeding behind the house and on the railing of the house up
the street. I could see no feeders from the street.
