I just want to summarize, now that I have even more emails, on what I've read about the most recent Boulder Winter Wren sightings. First of all, several excellent birders, beginning with Ted Floyd have clearly seen or heard western Winter Wren at 63rd and Saint Vrain Creek. Several have noted the differences in what they saw, from the bird I photographed yesterday. Secondly, almost 100% of the people who commented on my photos from yesterday, believe it is an eastern Winter Wren. That includes a couple of the best birders in the country. Finally, at least two people have seen two wrens while at the bridge. What an amazing occurrence to have a rare eastern bird and an even rarer western bird come together in Boulder, although the habitat is great. Thanks again for all the comments and especially to Ted Floyd for sharing a wealth of information, all the more important since it is a new split. I'm eager to read more in the March issue of Birding. David Waltman Boulder
