Hi Everyone--

Today 12/5 I went up to Grandview Cemetery in Fort Collins. The male and
female White-winged Crossbills and maybe 20 Reds were enjoying the spruce
nuts. Thanks to Dave Leatherman for keeping watch over them. A Townsend's
Solitaire fluttered by while I was there. The crossbills were still present
when I left around 11:30am.

On the way home, I stopped by Lake McIntosh in Longmont. The lake is all but
frozen over, but there were nevertheless a total of seven Tundra Swans
visible from the south shore. I enjoyed watching one of them taking a bath,
turning over on its back periodically, a huge black foot flailing in the
sun.

I also checked Pella Crossing (Stewart Pond still has Common Goldeneyes,
Redheads, and Ring-necked Ducks) and Lagerman Reservoir (completely frozen
over, with but one Canada Goose). A Harlan's Red-tailed Hawk flew by Hygiene
Road near 61st Avenue (this is west of Hygiene).
