Tom McConnell sent this info earlier: Bar-headed Goose has happened a couple of times in our neighborhood also. A few years back one appeared at Hallam Lake (ACES) in Aspen. It was tracked to a fellow on McClain Flats Rd who raised exotic waterfowl. His escaped Mute Swan also showed up at Hallam Lake a few weeks later. Early this fall Jerry Fedrizzi of Eagle sent me photos of on on the Singletree Golf Course in Wolcott. I have no idea where that bird wandered off from.
Those exotic bird folks need to band their birds! Are these the same people raising the Trumpeter Swans in the Roaring Fork Valley?
