Ron Martin (from Minot, North Dakota), Bill Maynard, and I birded in Fremont
and Pueblo Counties today, looking for some birds that Ron hadn't seen in
Colorado before.  We had quite a bit of success.

Fremont County:
RED-NAPED SAPSUCKER - 1 male at the Holy-Cross Abbey in Canon City
WILLIAMSON'S SAPSUCKER - 1 female at the Holy-Cross Abbey in Canon City
YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER - 1 male at Centennial Park in Canon City
Rufous-crowned Sparrow - 2 at Tunnel Drive in Canon City
Ladder-backed Woodpecker - 1 at Tunnel Drive in Canon City
Canyon Wren - 1 at Tunnel Drive in Canon City
Greater White-fronted Goose - 12 in Canon City
Say's Phoebe - 1 in Canon City

Pueblo County:
RED-NECKED GREBE - 1 off West Fisherman's Point at Pueblo Reservoir (spotted by
Ron first in like a 40 MPH wind gust, I finally saw it after 10 or 15 minutes
of trying)
GLAUCOUS GULL - 1 (probably 3rd year, based on the bill) at Pueblo Reservoir
(South Shore Marina tires)
GREAT BLACK-BACKED GULL - 1 adult at Pueblo Reservoir (South Shore Marina tires)
Lesser Black-backed Gull - 2 (1 adult, 1 younger bird with black in the
bill--3rd year or 4th year)
Juniper Titmouse - 4 at West Fisherman's Point in the junipers
DUNLIN - 1 below Pueblo Reservoir dam
BLACK PHOEBE - 1 below Pueblo Reservoir dam (it survived the -17 degree night
time temperatures earlier this week, I wasn't sure it would have)

I think with all these interesting birds around, next weekend's Pueblo
Reservoir and Penrose CBCs ought to be quite interesting.
