Hi all,

A quick update on the Fountain Creek CBC in El Paso County that was held today.

A huge thanks to all the observers (29 of them), we found at least 79 species
(at least five better than last year).  This may not be the final total, one
party may have added some more.

Highlights:
RED FOX SPARROW - 1 at Fountain Creek Regional Park (this one will need to be
documented), found by Ted Floyd's party.  We couldn't re-find it later this
afternoon.

Glaucous Gull - 1 at Midway Dump at Exit 119 off I-25, found by Bill Maynard
and Byran Patrick.

Sora - 1 heard in a marsh with Virginia Rail this afternoon, north of Hanson
Nature Area, found by Mark Peterson.

Great-tailed Grackle - new for the count, found by Mark Peterson and Kara
Lewantowicz.

Lesser Goldfinch - 7 found in Fountain, 6 at feeders and 1 at the Library in
Fountain.

Swamp Sparrow - 2 at Fountain Creek Regional Park, seen by many.

Harris's Sparrow - 2 in the Northeast part of the circle, found by Brad and
Bruce Steger.

American Black Duck x Mallard hybrid - 1 seen this afternoon near Fountain, by
Peterson, Lewantowicz, and Percival.

Thayer's Gull - 1 first year bird seen at Midway Dump, late in the day, by
Peterson and Percival.
