I forgot to mention that the Fort Collins CBC was held on Saturday, Dec 19. Now
that Count Week is over, the species total has risen to 91, with 4 added during
count weeek (Bushtit, Herring Gull, Thayer's Gull, Northern Saw-whet Owl)

Subject: [cobirds] Fort Collins CBC summary

Bird numbers observed during the Fort Collins Christmas Bird Count were lower
overall (about 30% less than last year!) presumably due to the recent prolonged
freeze. Species total was also lower with 87 species (compared to 95 in 2008),
plus 1 additional during count week (Bushtit). If any additional species not on
the list (below) were observed between December 16 and 22 (yes, today is the
final day to record a species as "count week" for this Count). Highlights
included 2 new species for the count (White-winged Crossbill and a bizzarre
fly-by Black-headed Gull), Unusual species and/or high counts are indicated by
bold font in the list below. Cedar Waxwing was missing on count day (anyone
record these for Count Week)?

Collins Audubon Society, and hospitality volunteers. Let's do it again next
year (can't wait!). Save the date: Saturday, December 18, 2010.
