Cobirders,
Heather and I went to Silverton, Colorado today (1/2/10) to look for Rosy
Finches. We were lucky enough to find a flock of about 120 birds that contained
all three species. Approximately 95% of the flock was Brown-capped
Rosy-Finches with a handful of Gray-crowned and just one or two Black
Rosy-Finches. The flock was visiting two houses with feeders along Empire
Street. We also found a pair of Brewer's Blackbirds that seemed out of place
in snowy Silverton.
