Hi all,

I had a surprise today with the arrival of 2, Pygmy Nuthatches, in my yard.
They came in with the White-breasted, and Red-breasted Nuthatches. I had up to
5 Pygmy Nuthatches about 10 years ago, show up in my yard in the winter. This
was a first show for them since that latter time. The cold fronts are still
bringing things down. These Pygmy pecked on my house shingles and than pecked
in a crack of my car's rubber bumper. They were totally disinterested in my
feeders. They watched some of the birds go to the feeders, including the
Nuthatches. They acted almost as if they did not know what a feeder was. The
Mountain Chickadee which arrived in my yard the first few days of Sept. is
still hanging around. Brown Creeper, American Goldfinch, Siskins, Juncos,
Towhees, and a Song Sparrow, and other regular backyard birds are present,
along with Great-horned Owls, Accipiters, and American Kestrel.

I had a Townsend's Solitaire, but it has not been here for 2 months. I live
one block away from Denver.

Happy Birding!
