Hi Folks,

Went and saw the Snowy Owl this morning. It was sitting on one of the
residential roofs looking quite contented. There were several photographers and
birders there. I was there for about an hour and everyone behaved quite nicely.
As for the Owl, people were walking up and down the road and he just sat there,
cars came and left and he just sat there, the home owner came out his front
door picked up his paper and slammed a couple of car doors and the owl just sat
there, dogs were running and barking and he just sat there. The only real
behavioral change I saw was when a raven flew by. The owl turned 180o on his
perch to watch the raven and then...just sat there! This bird is in a human
subdivision for crying out loud! He is obviously used to people coming and
going! All we really need is a little common sense and common courtesy when
observing wildlife or anything else for that matter! Oh yes, what a stunning
bird!! Glad I got to see him!
