Hi all-- Knowing we wouldn't get much on our "great backyard birdcount" for Cornell, nevertheless, my spouse and I kept an eye out. Indeed, it was a dull day, but I suppose it was an honest picture of the area we live in at the moment.
However as I left the house to run a few errands, I noticed a large dark bird with no head sitting on a pole west of Lagerman Reservoir; after a minute of study I realized it was a very nice bald eagle whose white head blended perfectly into the background. I think it has hung around this Rez area off and on for weeks. There is also an immature which I have not seen for a while.
