Hi all,
Sorry about this late posting, but it took me awhile to confirm the
sighting. On Tuesday, Feb. 23, Lois Levinson and I saw a female Rusty
Blackbird along the Wheat Ridge Greenbelt Trail just west of Youngfield. We
were birding with Tuesday Birders, but were not with the rest of the group
when we saw the bird. It was on the north side of Clear Creek and was
briefly accompanied by a male blackbird with a yellow eye. We did not
observe the male long enough to confirm whether it was also a Rusty.
Today's DFO group revisited this spot, but did not see any Rusty
Blackbirds. We also did not see the Winter Wren in the location in Prospect
Park where it had been seen previously.
