Hi cobirders. This morning after I put out more seed and retrieved
the paper and was going into the carport
I heard a familiar bird call it was a Robin and was going to dismiss
it when I realized it was a first for the yard
this year. It gave several of the Robin calls in the tree right at
the carport. It looked a little thin but it was
ready to establish a territory here .
I went with the Tuesday birders today and at least 40 came out to the
Stone House park on Estes in Lakewood.
The land birds were already hiding out on such a warm day. Saw
several Flickers and 3 Magpies. Little
else. There was a Hooded Merganser in Bear creek some one in the
group saw the female also.
There was a Great Horned Owl on a nest near Kipling and with aid of a
telescope saw the top of its head
with its "horn" feathers.
There was almost no snow on the paved trails . Good for my rollator.
Nice Spring day.
Bob Spencer N.E. of Golden.
