While driving around Weld county looking for/marking raptor nests I eventually made it to Greeley where the gravel pits have thawed. 35th Ave east pond is 100% open and full of usual spring ducks. Fst pond was 70% frozen and covered with geese including the Greater White- fronted.
Unfortunately north of Grover a lot of small oil rigs are now dotting the landscape--what a shame.
