Hi COBirders, Beautiful day here for a hawkwatch, with clear skies and light SE winds. Initially, it was dead again, but about 10:30-11:30 there was a small flight of Red-tailed Hawks moving N in groups of 2-4. These were circling and climbing along the ridges above and behind the scar near Garden of the Gods. Didn't see any local hawks down on the rock outcroppings, except that the female Prairie Falcon came up the valley from Garden of the Gods to check me out again, climbed, and disappeared. Too cool.
Numbers, (9:30-12:00) Red-tailed Hawk -11 Prairie Falcon -1 Am Crow - 5 Com Raven - 2 and local foothills birds: WB Nuthatch (2), Am Robin, T. Solitaire, W Scrub Jay (5), BB Magpie, Pine Siskin, House FInch, Mourning Dove, Rock Pigeon, and one Steller's Jay. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Colorado Birds" group.
