Today on Grand County Road 627, which goes along the headwaters of the Colorado
River, we saw:
Common Mergansers,
Hooded Mergansers,
Green-wing Teal, Bald Eagle
Belted Kingfisher, and Barrow's Goldeneye.

Lots of ice remains on the river, but it has begun to break-up.
