Thursday evening Doug Kibbe and I stopped by Lower Latham on our way to go owling and were rewarded with a First of the Season (FOS) American Bittern, a lone Solitary Sandpiper, and a couple of American Avocets. There were good numbers of Northern Harriers, but we didn't spot any Short-eared Owls.
