Steady west winds to 20 km/hr made us grateful for the old juniper
providing cover atop the Hawk Watch today. The first hour (10
individuals) was the best as a quick stream of unaided eye Red-tails,
an adult Sharpie, and an adult Golden Eagle passed directly overhead.
Only 14 more birds were seen the rest of the survey period. Overall 24
migrant raptors were seen, of 6 identifiable species, and 3 identified
to genus. Other migrants today included a Tree Swallow, three White-
throated Swifts, and eight Mountain Bluebirds. No Juniper Titmouse.
Spring beauties were blooming on the east facing slope. Great help and
company from all observers today, thank you! --Scott
