Actually, the map looks a lot worse for western Nebraska and Kansas, and all of South Dakota, compared with us...even eastern Colorado. Reminds me of the Mormon crops being saved, prompting the Beach Boys to write, "Wish they all could be California gulls." (Apologies to Joe Roller, who will probably add to this). Also - what would be the effect of wet vs dry Spring/Summer on the grasshopper population?
