Baca County:
--A male VERMILION FLYCATCHER was reported by Enbody at Comanche National Grasslands, .2 miles west of the corner of RD 21 and RD J on April 3. The bird was hanging around the fence posts and low bushes near the house on the north side of the road
A male Eurasian Wigeon was reported by Peterson at Turk's Pond on
March 28.

Boulder County:
--A first year Harris's Sparrow was reported by Floyd at Greenlee
Preserve in Lafayette on March 25. It was reported by Floyd east of
the Salina St. entrance to Greenlee/Wanaka Lake. It was singing
constantly from a large Russian Olive at 39.997303 N, 105.113993 W
on March 31.

El Paso County:
--A Winter Wren was reported by Lewantowicz at Fountain Creek Regional Park on April 3. The bird was located in the northern part of “Woodpecker Alley”. From the southern end of South Rice’s pond, go right onto the trail that goes by the waterfall. At the next forktake a right and you will be heading south into a wooded area. Walk a ways to a green metal bench on the left. The bird was on an island with trees along the shore directly west across the creek from the bench.

Grand County:
--A Black Rosy-finch was reported by Binkley at feeders just outside
of Grand Lake on April 2.

Huerfano County:
--All three species of rosy finches were reported by Jensen at the
home of Beverly Jensen in La Veta on April 1. Call 719-989-1398 to
arrange a visit.

Jefferson County:
--A Juniper Titmouse was reported at the Dinosaur Ridge Hawk Watch on
March 6 by Luper and Clark and heard by Hundertmark on April 2.
--A juv GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROW was reported by Brown behind the
Trading Post at Red Rocks on December 19. The GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROW
was last reported by Henwood on April 2.

Larimer County;
--An Eastern Phoebe was reported by Wild just south of Cattail Pond in SE Loveland on April 3.
--A pair of White-winged Crossbills was reported by Leatherman in
Grandview Cemetery in Fort Collins on November 22. Leatherman
reported on March 8 the White-winged Crossbill pair were observed
mating. On April 4, Leatherman reported the pair continue their
nesting activities. Location: extreme southeast corner of Grandview
Cemetery, west end of Mountain Avenue, Fort Collins.
Dave Leatherman will be in the extreme southeast corner of the
cemetery with his scope set up southeast of the pumphouse most
mornings between 8 and noon. Birders who want to see the crossbills
would have a decent chance if they come mid-morning and are willing to
spend at least an hour. The visitation of the nest by the male,
brief feeding session, and various post-feeding activities by the male
(which could include seeking water on the ground) are the only real
chances to observe the male and on average take a total of about 5
minutes. When these activities are over, there's nothing to see but
less-than-satisfying views of the mother's back or wing atop a 2 x 2-
inch visible section of nest for another hour until the male returns.
Visitors should note the real potential for golf ball damage to
vehicles if they park near the corner. When you first get there,
figuring out where the spot is, parking somewhere else, and walking
over to the corner would probably be best. Remember not to park on
the grass, block roads, or otherwise interfere with the cemetery
operations. The cemetery and golf course staffs are being very
patient and accepting. We need to keep on good terms with them.

Montezuma County:
--A Black-throated Sparrow was reported by Hill in the Lone Dome Area, along the Dolores River below the McPhee Dam on April 3.

Phillips County:
--A probable EURASION WIGEON was reported by Deininger at the Haxtun
Sewage Ponds on April 2.
--An EASTERN MEADOWLARK was reported singing near the ponds on CR2 on April 2.

Pueblo County:
--An Eastern Phoebe and a Black Phoebe were reported by Percival at Valco Ponds on April 3.

Teller County:
--Gray-crowned Rosy-finches were reported by Taylor in the backyard of 101 Stephanie Place in Divide on April 3. Please view the birds from the road west of the house (Joshua Road) – they are visible without trespassing. The birds like to roost in the large ponderosa nearest to Joshua Road.

Weld County:
--At Black Hollow Reservoir: A GLAUCOUS-WINGED GULL (1 first cycle); 2 ICELAND GULL (2 first cycle); 2 Thayer’s Gull (2 first cycle) were reported by Komar and Wild on April 4. --At Weld County Landfill: On April 4: 2 ICELAND GULL (2 first cycle); 1 GLAUCOUS GULL (adult); 2 Thayer’s Gull were reported by Komar and Wild. On April 3: A Lesser Black-backed Gull (adult) was reported by Miller. --At Windsor Lake: On April 4, A GLAUCOUS GULL (1 second cycle) was reported by Komar and Wild. Windsor Lake is in Weld County, just north of Main Street in downtown Windsor. Great views of gulls from the swim beach on south side of lake and from fishing pier on west wide. Easy access by car. Telescope not required for gulls along shore, but many more on center of lake.
--A probable BLACK-HEADED GULL was reported by Bruening in a recently
plowed field in the south side of CR78, north of Windsor and south of
14 on April 2.
