Hi everyone!

Walter's post about the Yellowlegs and absent Blue-winged Teal has
jogged my memory. Last Friday my wife and I went to Quivira NWR and
Cheyenne Bottoms. We saw several Greater Yellowlegs along with 1 Stilt
Sandpiper, several Baird's sandpipers, several Long-billed Dowitchers,
and many Snowy Plovers. We also all of the Dabblers except Cinnamon
Teal. there were Blue-winged Teal everywhere and it was a toss-up
between them and the Northern Shovelers as to which were more common.
We also saw three Whooping Cranes which were life birds for Lynda and
I! Grackles were everywhere and we did have 1 Yellow-headed Blackbird
on the way back to Great Bend off 281. Northern Harriers were common.
Divers included both Scaup, Canvasbacks, Ruddy Ducks, and Buffleheads.

At Cheyenne Bottoms we had a flock of several Bonaparte's Gulls and
several Lesser Yellowlegs. American White Pelicans were found in large
numbers (>500) between both places.
