Dear Cobirders,
As a brief preface: I promise this is my last post that will mention Turkey Vultures, unless I find a Black Vulture with some Turkey Vultures.

I headed out to Lagerman Reservoir this morning hoping that the high winds would keep one of the Sage Sparrows around. There were few birds around given the constant 25 mph and up winds, but the Sage Sparrow was still present, hunkered down along the fence along the entrance road. Since there were few other birds, I headed to Walden Ponds to see if any other goodies stayed the night. I was delighted to see my first 50 of the season Tree Swallows above Sawhill Pond #5 as well many northward moving Turkey Vultures and Red-tailed Hawks. I also was able to locate a FOS Lincoln's Sparrow in the marsh that is labeled Sawhill Pond #6 and Sawhill Pond #12 contained the male hybrid Cinnamon x Blue-winged Teal I was pining for the other day. This marks at least his 9th Spring at Walden Ponds! He's quite a bit larger than the "pure" Cinnamon Teals in that pond and was fairly aggressive with them as well.

Cheers,
Walter Szeliga
