Hi all,
Mymm Ackley, Margie Joy, and I saw two mostly alternate plumage Common Loons,
and one in basic plumage near the boat ramp at the SWA on NW side of Pueblo
Reservoir. Also, 7 American Avocets, 2 Greater Yellowlegs, 1 Lesser
Yellowlegs, 2 Cinnamon Teal, a Bonaparte's Gull, and two Savannah Sparrows were
all in this area.
Earlier this morning, I walked all of Pueblo City Park, hoping some eastern
warbler might sing or appear it front of me. No such luck. It was fairly
quiet, Red-breasted Nuthatch, Mountain Chickadee, Bushtits, and Pine Siskins
were the highlights.
I walked around the Pueblo Nature Center area as well, and didn't find any
migrants really.
I then went over to Valco Ponds parking lot, where a tour group had just
arrived. We saw one Black Phoebe west of Valco Ponds parking lot, in the usual
location. A few swallows were flying around as well, otherwise it was pretty
quiet.
Good birding,
Brandon Percival
