"Our" pair of Swainson's was back at "their" nest for the 6th year this morning, one sitting in the nest & the other on the rim. For five years they have successfully fledged young from this nest. I saw the first one sitting in a nearby cottonwood on April 13, & now both are in control of their territory. I've been anxiously scanning the skies for a couple of weeks with concern the red-tails would take over the nest.
