Tammy and I took a peaceful walk along the Arkansas this morning before the
winds picked up. There was a dark morph Broad-winged Hawk perched in a tall
cottonwood on the south side of the river near the railroad bridge. We were
across the river near the water-treatment plant. The bird flew up from the
tree and soared, and we had good views of the the white tail band. When
perched it looked all dark brown except for the white tail band.

Also saw Osprey, Chipping Sparrow, and Great-tailed Grackle along the walk,
and heard Sora and Virginia Rail (and chorus frogs) at Olive Marsh. Lots of
Audubon and Myrtle Warblers about this morning.
